Youth Organization ‘PAHAL’ organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in Vill. Gagrewal with the achieve and coordination Adv. Amrit Singh Dhara and Adv. Manjinder Singh Bhullar. Blood bank team under the guidance of Dr. Gagandeep Singh BTO civil Hospital, Jalndhar collected 60 units of blood. Prof. Lakhbir Singh president ‘PAHAL’ told that PSACS, Govt. of Punjab and NACO, Govt. of India envisages that there should be availably of Voluntary donated blood at the time of need of blood, but all not only o.4% population are involved in this cause, who are providing around 50% of our need
The low level of the Hb, under weight, malnutrition and self centered behavior are the main hurdles in promotion of VBD. It is true the voluntary donated blood is the safest blood. The need of blood is increased because of major surgeries, bye pass surgeries, road crashes, cancer and other serious ailments. Prof. Singh added that health, heath, education and awareness may help to make VBD a mass campaign.
Among others there were PAHAL members Mr. Khuswant Singh Chahal, Gagan Sharma, Deepak Kumar, along with local coordinator Prabhdeep Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Kamaldeep Singh Suri, Pardeep Singh Bhalaipur, Gurbinder Singh Bhalaipur, Sukh Khojkipur, Adv. Manjinder Singh Bhullar, Satnam Singh, and Adv. Amrit Singh Dhara. The voluntary blood donors were honored with VBD certificates and appreciation awards.
