PAHAL every year celebrates World Blood Donors Day to honour the frequent/regular blood donors. This year 2014 PAHAL in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society and Medical superintendent Civil Hospital Jalandhar City celebrated the World Blood Donors day to honour the institutions who worked for motivating everyone to donate blood and regular voluntary blood donors who are always willing to donate blood whenever needed.PAHAL focused on the theme of 2014 World Blood Donors day i.e. “Safe blood for saving mothers”. With this theme PAHAL spread out the word that the need of blood is increasing rapidly everyday as donors are less than the person who needed the blood. Er. Liakatbir Singh conducted the whole program. Mr. Khushwant Singh Chahal, Gagan Sharma, Bageshwar Singh, Anu, Kritika, Mandeep Kaur, volunteered to organize the function.
On this World Blood Donors Day function PSACS, Red Cross Society, IHGE Jalandhar, IMI Bidhipur, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Lic, Dav College, Blood Connect Delhi, Bharat Scout Guide, CRPF, BSF, Blood Donors Clup Mehatpur, were honoured for organizing voluntary blood donation. Among donors who donated blood multiple times, M S Thaper, Dinesh Chopra, Neeraj Bakshi, Vikram Gupta, Rakesh Gupta, Neeraj Kumar Beri, Gopal Loomba, Manish Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Charanjeet Singh. In the recently camps as many as 131 units of blood has been donated.
PAHAL also organizes voluntary blood donation camp at agriculture cooperative society training institute, Jalandhar City. 35 units of blood were donated by the students and teachers of the institute. The students of the institute also pledged to work with PAHAL on the other sectors of the society also.
