It was regarding spreading awareness about proper recycling of Electric & Electronic waste material, so that we can minimize Environment pollution. Teachers of about 50 schools are participating in this programme. These teachers will guide their school students, so what we want is to change our society’s attitude from informal disposal of watse material to Formal one.

Karo Sambhav school programme aims at creating awareness on critical environmental issues e.g. Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipments (WEEE), engaging students on preventive environmental strategies like circular economy, and inspiring them to take actions in their daily lives. The programme enables development of 21st century skills of collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication, ICT competencies and real-world problem solving, by deploying contemporary pedagogical practices in the classroom.

For academic year 2017-18, the programme shall engage 1000+ schools across India in alignment with the State Education Departments, and the State Pollution Control Boards. The programme is an enabler for ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, ‘Digital India’, and ‘Smart Cities’.

The challenge for education in 21st Century is to create an education approach that is agile, adaptable and in-tune with the lives of students outside of the classroom and their future employability. We believe that Education Leaders need to create conditions that allow students to be deeply involved with real-world problems, using real world tools in as close to real-world conditions as possible. In this programme, the schools will work on solving the environmental challenges of today by understanding the complex relationship of these challenges with the daily life choices people make.

The programme shall make an impact on several stakeholders like students, their peers, parents, relatives, and communities to critically evaluate and consider the environmental impact of existing lifestyles, and move towards a creation of a circular economy. The school programme encourages the students to lead a sustainable lifestyle, and inspires them to become the catalysts of change, as the name itself suggests, Karo Sambhav!!
